No need to buy the silly intercooler for your PS3 simply because you want to use it with your Harmony (or any other) universal IR remote. Apparently a company has come up with an IR reciever/circuit board to take care of this headache.

Here's a Link for Anyone that's interested.

I wish this was more than some random guy who knows electronics messing around with a circuit board and was instead a REAL fix by Sony to this issue.

It really isn't that difficult of a fix as there are any number of companys that make USB/IR adapters, and Sony really is missing a lot more sales by not offerring a full IR product which allows full BD compatibility.

Seriously - the PS3 already has the ability to leave the USB ports hot when the power of the PS3 console is off... But you have to use a PSP to enable this feature (stupid Sony!) - Instead, that feature should be added to the System menu so we can all charge our controllers when the system is off. Then deliver full IR compability to emulate the Bluetooth remote that's available, but include discrete on/off commands to seal the deal.

Maybe sony will release that after they allow decoding of DTS-HD MA? :D Or at least maybe tell us if it's even going to happen? Grr....
