Do i need to use digital coax cables to go from pre amp to amp or should i just use regular RCA cables. Im assuming that the connection between the pre and main amp is analog correct? Please help Thx.

pre-amp to amp is always analog however digital coax cable would still work fine :)
I'd get Monoprice premium cables - they have a bit higher wire gauge and a bit nicer.
Blue Jeans Cable if you like it even prettier.

Anything over that is a pure rip-off.

"RCA" is a connector type, not a cable type. Both digital and analog interconnects use RCA connectors making them both "RCA cables".

The main difference between interconnects is that those designed for digital and video usage are 75 ohm while analog cables need not be for excellent performance.

So, that "RCA cable" designation could aptly be applied to he following:

Red/white analog audio cables, generally between 50 -110 ohms impedance.

Yellow composite video cables, 75 ohm impedance

Red, green, blue component video cables, 75 ohm

Orange digital cables, 75 ohms also.

There may be more for all I know.

anything can be used for audio but it's recommended 75 ohm cables be used for video and digital, although audio cables have worked in all applications, at least in short lengths. I've used red/white cables for digital signals with success.

Let me summarize what Mark said: it won't make any difference :)
