Integra DPS-9.1 Horror Stories

I have been looking for a mid priced DVD/CD player and had my eye on the Integra line 8.1 or 9.1 until I came across some horror stories about these units
One quote was "I used to own an Onkyo Integra DPS-9.1 DVD-Audio/Video player. Its best feature was that I received a full refund."
Not the best endorsement but I am still open
I have included the link for this post and the other disgruntled owners.

Has anyone on this site owned ether the Onkyo Integra DPS-9.1 or 8.1.

The later model 9.1 seems to be OK but how do you know which is first or second generation?
Some models are 9.1 B is this second generation model? (Does the B mean this is a newer model)

Any input before I lay down my hard earned cash will be greatly appreciated.

I have a DPS-9.1 Integra DVD/CD player. It may have the very best video switching in the entire world, but I do not think it is worth the $1800 it costs. The audio (what I use it for mainly) is fine and the vidio is fine, but I do not think you need to spend that much. If you want, I'll sell you mine. rosscox@houston.rr.com
