Those Insignia bookshelves are in Best Buys ad this week for $39.99 (pair). Might make a nice pair of speakers for a den, garage, basement, or zone 2 area. They are shipping free from the website as well, for $42.49.

I wonder how these would hold up under a patio roof for outside.

i've had a pair for a couple months using them as my 2 fronts.i really like the sound of them.the cases aren't that thick so be carefull if you use them outside.there are A LOT of responces over at avsforums in the speaker section and i think any questions you may have will be answered there.

I have a pair of the Insignia units, that I purchased in order to modify, measure and do double blind testing on the modifications, for entertainment purposes. The detail photos of the cabinet interior, driver and exterior details in the Audioholics article look identical to the units from Best Buy that I purchased, minus the supertweeter, bi-amp extra terminals and spikes. BTW, it is bar none the best sounding $40 speaker, IMO. Add some minor modifications[mass loaded damping to walls and proper internal acoustic damping], and it can sound substantially better than it does in stock form.

Well, $60 more. Radient just dropped the price to 1/2 the original.

Very nice. Those Calypso's are stunning speakers to look at. The towers are almost 49" tall. I wonder if they have any mid bass response, sporting 4 - 4" drivers. Definitely a nice WAF.

Best Buy just dropped the internet price to $39.98 with free shipping.
