My problem is fixed. Thanks to everyone's input. However, in addition to the external DAC that I bought I also got myself a monster power center (HTS 3000) to protect my gear from power surges (also thought it looked better with the needle VU as opposed to a LED readout). This eliminated approx. 90% of the hum when listening to music from my PC. Funny thing is, i tried each device by its own and I get the same result. Meaning, 90% of the hum is gone using only the DAC and/or the power center. By using both I get the same result as using either one or the other by their own.
