Do we have a Software section in our HTPC area?:D

Seems like most talk is about the hardware, but the software is just as important.

For example, my HTPC has HDMI & Optical audio output.

Using PowerDVD 8 or 9 Ultra, I can't get any sound from my HDMI.

But using TotalMedia Theatre 3 (TMT3), I can get HDMI audio.

Another example is Blu-ray vs HD DVD. I know HD DVD is dead, but there are still plenty of BD/HD DVD combo drives around and plenty of people to want to save their HD DVD movies into their hard drives.

However, you cannot play HD DVD files with Power DVD 8 or 9. But you can play HD DVD on TMT3.

PowerDVD 7 has HD DVD capability, but it is very limited. For me it only played back 2.0 sound.
