I'm looking at home theater sound systems. (Maybe I"ll get one in 2012 -hopefully).
Anyway, as a secondary function, I was going to put an HTPC with my TV system, but thought that it would double duty to play music files. My PC has a decent Logitec 2.1 sound on it. But frankly, its rather in my face, and I have to pause or mute the music anytime anybody wants to talk to me.
So, would a decent Home Theater sound system also do very well as a music system?
-I'm not worried about 5.1 music, so I'm actually wanting the music to mostly come out of the front L & R speakers and the sub of course.
PS. The TV is located on the wall that best serves to pipe sound to both the livng room and kitchen. So thats not a problem. Its the opposite wall my PC is on that makes the PC speakers so directional and confined.
PPS. Obviously I'm planning on getting 5.1 sound for the TV and movies, etc.
