H H Scott Model 299, Vacuum Tube vintage collectors model. Manufactured about 45 years ago in Maynard, Mass. USA. One of the Classic Integrated Amplifiers of it's day, a Pre-Amplifier (with phono-gain and equalization, as well as line stages) and Power-Amplifier together in one common chassis. Brushed "gold" aluminum faceplate. All vacuum tubes are present. Without any "printed-circuit" boards, It is constructed in the "point to point" wire connecting method considered now to be a sonicaly superior way to manufacture an audio piece. This model is valued by audiophiles and collectors for it's sweet, delicate and musical sound quality.
Cosmetically, not perfect, after 4 plus decades, has some scratches, and mars. But all the original parts are there, and untouched by "Hackers" or "Mod Maniacs"... It will be yours to do what you will.. It has the prefered "solid aluminum" knobs, instead of the plastic type on some other versions of this amp. And all those knobs are present, not missing, as is often the case. It uses 4 of the venerable 12AX7 tubes in the pre-amp section. Has 2 6BL8 tubes as drivers. And 4 of the wonderful 7189 tubes as Push-pull output valves. And of course, a Valve(tube) Rectifier. The great sounding classic H H Scott Audio Output Transformers, with all 3 of 4, 8, 16 ohm taps. It also has an enclosure "cabinet" or case that is a leather-like brown in color, made of steel, included in this offer, (often cases are found no longer with this model when offered, either never purchased, or are long-lost)
I will not power it up, as, due-to-age, the capacitors and parts-and-such may not handle a power-up until a complete check-out is done by a qualified and experienced "vintage-tube" tech person, which the buyer, or new-owner should hire. Some parts may have "aged-out" of tolerance, and need to be replaced, and most Audiophiles will want to "update" those parts anyway.... So, due-to-age, is being offered and sold as-is.

Asking $300.00 or best-offer. I also have many other vintage Hi-Fi gear items for sale. JBL, Klipsch, Thiel, EV, Wharfdale, KLH, Infinity, Altec, Cerwin Vega. And many parts and sundry items.. call Rolf E. (310) 372-9113 Los Angeles. e-mail rolf_video@yahoo.com
