I just joined today because I just can't find the answer, if one even exists, to what I want to do. I have two Dish Network receivers, each with one HDMI and one coax output, aTIVO DVR with HDMI output, and a blue ray player. I want to centrally locate everything, take the output from any of the inputs to four different AV Receivers located by each TV. I have looked at several different 4x4 HDMI Matrix Switchers and from what I have been told by the suppliers, you can't go from a switcher to an AV Receiver because it is also a switcher. It seems to have something to do with HDCP compliance. The output of the switcher would have to be utp because of the distance to most locations. I am not concerned with the coax output from the Dish Receivers.

I'm not sure I understand your question. You can definitely use an HDCP compliant switcher to link 4 different HDMI sources to a single receiver.

But from what you describe are you trying to send 4 different HDMI sources to 4 different receivers?

A little more detail may be helpful for forum experts
