Gainclone anyone?

So I have been having a blast building a few gainclone amps. Anyone else here like these little guys? The Audiosector kit is stupidly easy to make and its pretty sweet to boot.

So how do you like the gainclone? what are you comparing it against? I too got the audiosector kit, the premium one but never got a chance to finish building it. have not found a decent enclosure. it's interesting people swear by it and others say it's just a typical chipamp.

are you using a passive or active preamp? did you regulate or snub the power supply or kept it as is?

I also bought the premium kit and I like the sound of it alot. I am not going to describe it here mainly to not be assaulted by people who pick their wine with measurments. As for a pre currently when I use it I have been feeding directly with my Bolder modified SqueezeBox3. But I am working on an all DIY system and it will be used with a Bottlehead ForeplayIII that I am almost done with.
