It would be easy to discount the new SV series speakers from Fluance simply because of price. At $629.99 with free shipping, how could any 5.0 system be good? Add to that floorstanding speaker bragging a response down to 42Hz and we'd understand your skepticism. But after hearing some Fluance offerings for ourselves, we can't help be be excited. The email we got from Fluance claimed that the SVHTB is Easily our best 5 speaker home theater system to date." If that is even close to true, this could be the next go to recommendation for those on a budget. Look forward to a review of the Fluance SVHTB here on Audioholics.com soon.

"The towers are rated down to 42Hz, the center to 60Hz, and the surrounds to 40Hz (which has to be a typo on their spec sheet as there is no way the bookshelfs play lower than the towers)."

If you look a little closer, it's more than just a typo. Your specs are a faithful copy of their web site, but the site is in need of some editing.

The center is listed as "2 Way 2 Driver Surround", while the surround is listed as "2 Way - 3 Driver Center". Is the surround really wider than is is deep? Does it really weigh more than the center?

The fronts are crossed over at 3.5Khz for the mid/tweet. Are the center & surrounds really crossed over at 6Khz?

The manufacturer updated their specs and I updated the article accordingly.
