Nowadays there is a wide range of universal DVD players, which play SACD and DVD-Audio discs, from several manufactures, such as Pioneer, Onkyo, Marantz, Samsung, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Denon, Sherwood, Lexicon, etc. I have compiled a lot of them in my web site:

Those buttholes, I just wrote them (NAD) and E-mail asking if they'd ever make a SACD player, they said "No, we feel the market for DVD-A far exceeds SACD and/or other 'Hi-Resolution' options at this time". Guess the market changed alot in the last three weeks. :rolleyes:

This is very useful. It would be nice to have a sublist of IEEE1394 output sets.

What about Rotel? They told me: "We are frankly not sure about the SACD format". :rolleyes:

@xixiware..........
DVD-A is DVD-Audio. It's a high resolution 5.1 surround music format. It's the competitor to SACD (Super Audio Compact Disc), which is the same kind of thing. There's been a format war between the two, for 2-3 yrs. now, to see who's going to end up on top. The general public hasn't really embraced either. That's why there's no more discs, than there are. They really sound wonderful, if you get one that was mixed well.

It takes special players to play the high resolution tracks. The hybrid sacds have dts tracks and regular cd tracks too, so they'll play in your car's cd player. The universal players, mentioned here, play both sacd and dvd-a.
Hope this helped you understand a little better? :)
