DVD and Processor crossover.

DVD and Processor's crossover doing the same thing?

Ok, I slowly (as my paycheck allows) building my HT.

During my research (day dreaming :p ) I read some user manuals and came across a question on the "excess" of crossing over. Getting down to it:

I am planning on buying a Lexicon MC8 (balanced) and the new Denon DV 3910. However, reading the manual of the DVD I found out that I cant turn of the DVDs crossover on the 5.1 audio outputs. This signals will leave the DVD and enter the Lexicon and (strange) get "choped" again. Obviously I would set both for the same cut of frequency (80hz or so) but it seems that the signal will go through unecessary electronics and be leveld off by the worst crossover (probably the DVD).

Does this make any sense? Am I misreading something?

Best Regards,

JM

PS: Afterthought: What could be done is to set all the speakers as large and set the crossover on 40hz and then set the processor's speakers as small and its crossover point at 80hz. Still, it seems that the signal would be going into unecessary circuitry inside the DVD.
