I'd like to get a receiver that supports full 11.1 channel. Reading specs gets confusing.

Can the TX-NR1009 output full 11. (front wides and heights plus rears) if I use an external amp for the extra 2 channels, or do I have to go with a more expensive receiver?

I haven't had a chance to review the owner's manual, but I believe you can run 11 channels if you don't utilize any of the other "Zones". I have a 7.2 receiver that can technically run 9.2 if I don't use the zone feature.
