I like L7 better for stereo recordings whether it's music, TV, or movies. It sounds more natural and more like a DD or DTS discrete recording to me over PL II or DTS NEO 6. IMO it excels with music. It's common on HK receivers and others that Harman International owns. I can't comment on the technology behind either. Why are you asking?

The reason I ask is becase I am trying to decide between two processors:

Anthem Statement D1; or
Lexicon MC-4.

And except for the Logic 7 algorithm I see no reason why I should go for the Lexicon. Let me explain. The D1 has:

- 3 zones (0 on the MC4 and 2 on the MC8);
- Balanced outputs (available only ith the MC8B, t at much higher cost)
- Will upgrade to include (ieee 1394), which the lexicon MC family will not have
- Better price (if compared to the more "comparable" MC8b and better price/performance considering what you get when comparing with the USD 500 cheaper MC4).
