Dish Network - 44 Switch

If you use Dish Network, and have three, or more Dish receivers, you probably need a DISH Pro Plus 44 Switch.
My question is about the afore mentioned switch.
As I'm writing this, we're waiting for the Dish Network tech to arrive, sometime between 8: A.M. and Noon.
(just the way I love to spend A Saturday)
My 44 switch is mounted in the attic.
This will be the third 44 switch that's gone bad.
The last time, I had them send me the switch, and I replaced it myself. I didn't want to sit, and wait for a Dish tech.
I think the attic gets too hot in the summer, and slowly fries the electronics in the 44 Switch.
So today I'm going to have the tech move it to the basement.
Has anyone had, or know, of problems with these DISH Pro Plus 44 Switches?
Thanks,
Rick

As the manager of a company that sells and installs 44 switches, i can tell you the heat doesn't bother it.

Maybe the dust and all the particles in the air might disturb it, but it doesn't have any openings to the air except the ports.

We have had many problems with the switch blowing from the power supplies. For some reason if there is alot of spiking in the electrical current, from the power supply it will shut it down.

What problems are you experiencing?

I have all the unused ports capped.
It's also plugged into a power conditioner, which is then, plugged into a
Hubbell surge protection outlet.

The problem starts as a 'Satellite has Lost lock' message.
I then run the 'Check switch' diagnostic, and that fails.
The two prior times this has happened, the Dish tech came out to confirm the switch problem.
The DISHPro Plus 44 Switch seems to be hard to get, or out of stock.
(at least it seems that way with Dish Network)
All three times they "forgot" to bring the switch with them!
This is after we waited all day for the tech to show.
The last time I had them mail it to me, and I installed it.

I figured the switch had cooling fins on it for something?

Thank You for the help & quick reply.
