Hi. I'm trying to connect my Toshiba blu ray player to my Samsung HT-E550 entertainment system. The blu ray player has a digital coaxial output, but the Samsung only has analog. Is it possible to connect them?

Use the analog audio output on your BD (blu-ray) player to connect to your Samsung HT-E550 system. If you want to be able to get all of the sound formats off of your BDs, you will need to buy a receiver with HDMI inputs that also processes the formats on BD. Given the speakers of your system, that would not be worth doing unless you also upgraded them as well as the receiver. So, just use the analog outputs from you BD player until you decide you want to spend a lot of money.

Edited to add:

I see from looking at the manual for your Samsung system, that it does have a digital input, but it is optical. If your BD player has an optical digital output, use that.
