I have a question regarding the two above speakers. I currently own a Denon 2312 receiver, two Definitive Technology SM55s, and an Outlaw LFM-1 Plus (no amplifier). I have bi-amped my SM55s for a theoretical 210 watts. My rears would only have the 105 watts per channel allocated to them (no amplifier) from the receiver. Would I be better off with the 8040 surrounds or would the 8080 surrounds prove better even if they are underpowered (not at their full potential of 200 watts)? Both have 92dB sensitivity. I tried searching for a similar thread but couldn't find a precise comparison. This is a significant investment for me so ironing out these questions is essential.
