An emerging convergence between home entertainment and agriculture? How 'bout this from the current (December 2004) Consumer Reports:
"The Claim: The JVC EX-A1 micro system offers '...natural sound across the sonic spectrum'...Why? The speaker cones, JVC says, are made of birch wood that has been saturated with sake...The company says the sake allows the wood to be shaped without cracking or breaking."
CU goes on to say that, sake soaking or not, it's one of the better desktop microsystems they've tested. It included a progressive-scan DVD player, too. Hey, at $500 it might be a better alternative to the Bose Waveradio, at least.
Sake is not included, apparently.
