I have 3 speakers in the upper half of my speaker cabs. Morel tweeter MDT 30, Dynaudio D52AF Midrange, and a Morel MDM 85 midrange. The upper half of the cab that they are mounted in is separated from the woofer by means of a solid horizontal brace. Now all 3 of these drivers are sealed completely from the faceplate to the back of the driver, you can not see the back of the cones what so ever. So the question is how important is it to have damping material in this cab other than the 1 inch of fiberglass stapled to the sides, top and back of the cabinet. I know that you need damping to adsorb the reflected back wave of the driver, but with the drivers I have is it really needed?
