CRT monitor extension cable

I got one of those common extension cables(5 ft) and ghosting is happening.
Do you recommend any CRT extension cable?
Is it better to just install a lengthier cord in the monitor?
Thank you

I'd try using a surge suppressor of some kind to extend to the position where the TV needs to connect. Or make sure you at least have used an extension cable of the appropriate size to handle the current requirement of the TV - CRTs draw a fair amount of current, so a very small extension cable (zip cord, looks like lamp wire) may not cut it even for 5 feet.
