Choosing a new receiver.

I'd like your help...I wanna change my receiver, something about US$ 500 and 7.1 channels and I'm in doubt...sony DG800, STR DE998 or Pioneer 1015. I love to see and to listen dvd of shows at high power... What do you think??? Thank you...

Having owned the Sony just below the 998 I am not a big fan compared to other choices out there.
The Pioneer 1015 has received great reviews and is a very good receiver.
I would add the Yamaha RX-V659 to the list. It has 7.1, plenty of power, clean sound, very good calibration abilities. I do own the 659 so am a bit prejudiced.

There is also the Yamaha 2500 which is the predacessor to the 2600. It is available in your price range.

I'd avoid Sony. They're really not in the same ballpark as Pioneer. The Sony does have HDMI pass through, but lacks in sound quality and power. Also consider B stock in that price range. If you're in the states, you can get a helluva receiver for ~$500.
