Carver TFM-55X 2 channel 1000 WATT RMS amplifier . anybody heard of this amp? any good? compares to what?

I currently have one that I have used for many years, but it is in need of repair and I have no use for it right now. They are very good amps that were very well reviewed.

I'll second that, some of the best amps made are carvers.
