Actually, the cables don't even have to have identical specs. The limiting factor is, contrary to popular beliefs, is the human hearing. We do not have a limitless ability to differentiate and hear soundwaves. The field of acoustics has shown our limits. Cables have to be grossly different to be audibly different. Reality bites.
