Cabinet grill/mesh needs

All,
We bought a new house a few months ago and it is great. My living room area, while not ideal (based on TV height, although I mind it very little) has some nice features that I am working with. However, I have a problem and I know Audioholics can solve it!

See picture:

The mesh on the cabinet doors is both hideous (golden) and too dense so that it blocks the IR signal with the doors closed. I want to replace it, but the solutions I have found are ungodly expensive and hard to tell how they look without seeing them in person. Glass is not an option as I need the ventilation. I don't want to take the doors off.

Any help? Thanks!

I would start with a search at parts-express.com

perhaps something like this?
http://www.parts-express.com/flat-metal-grill-pair-with-8mm-square-holes-22-x-30--262-898

3 pages of possibilities with metal grills

Find what you like and trim it to size you need.

They also have grill fabric, but I don't think that's what you want here?

Thank you sir. Right after posting I found these at Rockler, and they do cut to order sizing. I think I am going to try the 1" flat nickel. Looks like I will be in around $70 for both plus shipping. Gotta do some measuring once I get home.

I would still love more options. I'd prefer a nice decorative white that has a 1" to 1-1/2" spacing. I really like this design:

Very funny.... but seriously I don't mind the chicken wire look it if was a smaller weave and white. I could always buy some and try to plastidip it white, but that's probably going to look like crap.
