How would I go about creating a system that isn't for DVD playback but for only CD playback. I want the receiver to be able to output 24/96 digital sound with surround capabilities and have a decoder. Which receiver could I go for to do that?

Also, I'm looking for some good speakers that don't clip and don't color the sound too much like some bookshelf speakers do. Preferably a set of surround sound 5.1 speakers.

Is there anyone I could get a setup like this for under $300?

Under $300.00? Is that including the receiver or just for the speakers?
