I don't post much, but am a long time home audio visual fan. I have built my fair share of sub enclosures, and wanted to try my hand at something different. Went ahead and built a 25 driver line array.

Main speakers are THX 2.5" drivers from parts express with 24 of them per speaker.

Boxes are ported, and tuned to 55 hz.

Tweeters are GRS 1TH-4 1" Bullet Horn Tweeter 4 Ohm crossed over at 6000 kHz

Right now I am re-modeling my basement theater, so they are currently playing TV duty in our upstairs living room...for as long as my wife will allow ;-)

Impressions...

Well, there is a very small sweet spot for the setup right now. I know being in the corner is not good for imaging, and I am excited to get them down to my theater to give them a good listen. If I sit just left or right of center, it feels like the sound is coming from my side...very unusual. They are VERY clear and bright...and the bass is there, but very weak. They are LOUD! Really, until I can get them downstairs, and properly set up, I don't think it is fair to comment too much. I will update again when I do.

I think total build cost was around $200 for the pair.

They will be used to play light Christmas music over a company dinner of about 150 people this weekend. I think they should work well for that task!
