Anyone have a simplified explanation for me on line in/out connections with these.....

Receiver
Speakers, middle speaker
TV
Record player
DVD player

Also, is the receiver the "central" connection to all of this?
Thanks much.

An audio/video receiver (avr) would be the central device for connectivity/use with that set of gear. Depends what those devices particularly are equipped with what type of connectivity to an extent. It would have likely more than just left, right and center (middle) speaker connections, one of the better options is it's ability to utilize a subwoofer.

An avr with a phono stage you could easily use a record player/turntable with a moving magnet cartridge....altho if that record player/turntable had a built in phono stage you could use any of the line in inputs on the receiver. DVD player might be able to be connected a few different ways (easiest is hdmi). TV similarly. Really need to know make/model of each device to be sure....
