I'm having a bit of trouble with this whole Atmos step. I think I got it, but I still have two questions that I'm struggling with.
1. Atmos speakers; I'm confused about Atmos the technology and Atmos the speakers; in relation to floor speakers and ceiling speakers. I understand that the Atmos floor speakers have to be special purchase, but do the ceiling speakers also have to be an "Atmos" product of sort, or can they just be any ceiling mounted speakers, and it's the AVR to make them work as Atmos?
2. When talking about Atmos technology, would it be fare to describe it this way; "Surround sound moves sound around you, primarily highlighting special effects, where as Atmos adds sound from above, filling the space between sound effects and vocals, with ambient content, giving it a more complete feel".
If #2 doesn't really describe Atmos, what does?
