My pre/pro is 17 years old, so no Bluetooth or Airplay; but, connecting an Airport Express to my router and to the pre/pro, using optical digital output, I now enjoy Airplay from computer or iPhone to pre/pro. It sounds in most cases as good as my USB to Toslink converter's connection to pre/pro. The hard connection is up or down sampled from computer AIFF or ALAC files to 24/96. The AE converts all to 16/44. In some cases the hard connection does seem to sound better but either wired or wireless connection the sound is as good as SACD. Some times the wireless connection has drop outs; but, it is rare for that to happen.
