Any guesses on new Apple laptops?

Okay, it is time for the rubber to meet the road!
I am about to leave for Athens (2 hours drive) to buy my daughters computer this afternoon.


She has specified a MacBook Air 13".
Are there any options I should consider? Recommendations for memory, etc?
I'm not sure she would use a mouse if I got one, but probably will if they do not cost too much.
Insurance options?

Depends on what you need to do, but for some work a touch pad just won't cut it.

Any CAD work or design work--get a mouse!

Unless she is doing work that requires a mouse then I would skip it. The trackpad on MacBooks is bar-none the best trackpad available and once one gets used to the multi-touch gestures that are integrated into the OS you will never want to use a mouse again.

As for storage, I would get at least the 256GB model. I believe 8GB RAM is the only option and that is fine.
