So I bought an Onkyo TX-SR502 a few months ago, it was working well and then I had to take it in to get repaired, I guess it had to get the connection joints resaudered for the video inputs. It took way to long, and now it seems that I can't play movies as loud as I used to, it just turns off. I used to be able to watch movies with the volume cranked up to around 45 and now it shorts out around 40, sometimes even lower. Anyone know anything about something like that?

sounds eerily similar to a number of recent posts about the 602.

That's pretty bad luck and I've been fortunate to never ever have a problem with Onkyo gear ( and my 502 is working great). I hope there are no issues with the 702 when I get one after the first of the year!

i have the 702 and havent had any problems w/ it. I have read about QC issues on the other Onkyo models, and it sounds like they are OE more than problems w/ the receiver. The 702 has been great and extremely easy to setup. I couldnt be happier w/ it.
