    Default Nexus 7 Tablet

I ordered mine last week. I'm hoping it will be shipped next week. I'm getting it mainly for work and developing a couple of GIS apps for some of my field team.

But of course I will also use it for fun as well. I'm going to take advantage of some of the IP based control of some of my gear (Marantz and popcorn hour). I am also making a move toward Homeseer and Zwave devices for some lighting control, HVAC and garage door monitoring. This would be the main devices used for that interface.

Everything I have read so far seems to indicate this tablet will be the best bang for the buck and a much better choice than the Kindle Fire.

Anyone order one of these or plan on getting one?

    Congrats
I 100% agree at $200 N7 is a steal and has 99.9% performance of $500 Asus tablet ... The only drawback is tiny storage and no chance to expand it (other than cloud)
I still not sure I need a tablet, I have ebook reader.me and wife have android phones, but if I'd to get tablet N7 would be my choice

That's my feeling as well. I'm not sure that I really need a tablet but the 16GB model might tempt me if it had expandable storage, but it doesn't. For now I'm sitting on the sidelines and waiting to see what the next gen Kindle Fire looks like.

Mine is on the Big Brown Truck and will be here later today.

I'm fairly excited. It is not like I'm AcuDefTech getting my sixth set of speakers. I was stupid and did not buy a case or anything so I will have to look around for one.

Hee Hee. Thanks. Looks like I'll need a knife.

I'm keeping myself busy now cleaning my office. I just pulled out 4 tower computers, 5 lcd monitors, 3 UPS's and a bunch of keyboards and mice. I can't believe all that was strewn about. It didn't look that bad under all the boxes.

I did find a couple of amps. My beat up Integra ADM 2.1 and a little speakercraft amp I was supposed to sell a guy I work with. You can tell you are a true geek when you forget you have amps laying around your office. I think I need a turntable for here.

    Now onto all the paper.

So this came in yesterday and so far this absolutely blows away the Kindle Fire. It is so much faster in every way. I've downloaded a few apps and have set up email and purchased OfficeSuite to edit office documents. I have not done any gaming or video yet but so far so great.

I am loving mine. I have not loaded any games yet. I did get the AVR app for my Marantz and I am loving it for my Zone 2 control. I primarily use Pandora and Internet Radio for that zone so I can do everything except control my speaker switch right from the tablet.

I've been spending far too much time trying to decide what DE to use to develop my GIS app or if there was one out there that would do what I want.
