The SMC-1000 is a media cabinet that has compartments to hide your equipment out of sight and a built-in 2.1 stereo system to provide "audiophile" sound. Ikea Uppleva is getting shoddy reviews because the included TCL monitor is craptastic and the media center software is falling short on many fronts. This looks like a BYOD version of Uppleva, which is a much smarter way to go about it.
