Not directly A/V related but for those of us watching Netflix or listening to Pandora over FiOS it's interesting. Verizon is rumored to be bumping up speeds and prices starting June 17th. I'm currently on a 35/35Mb/s plan as part of an internet/TV/premium channel package and there are reports that those speeds might be bumped to 75/35. No confirmation on the latter yet but that's the rumor going around the DSLReports Verizon Internet forum.

300mbit down is actually fast enough to justify replacing the ol' WRT54G with something faster. *drool*
If only I could get FiOS.![]()
Yeah. No fios availability for me either. Too bad I don't live in Keller![]()

Called Verizon and upgraded to 75/35. Best speedtest to date is 84/35.
Fios, shmios... I get this on cable and pay much less - currently on one year promo - basic+family pgk tv, hd dvr, Boost internet and phone ( I don't use the later, but it cheaper to have it) = total bill is $136
As soon as promo ends I'd cancel the phone, but probably keep the boost service..
yea, and thank god - no caps

I've got FiOS 15/5 and had been consistently getting 20/5. I was kinda upset that I would be getting no speed upgrade during this process but recently I've actually been consistently getting 25/5. I have never heard of any other ISP giving you speeds 66% faster than the "guaranteed" speed. I would have liked a doubling of upload speed though so that I could stream my DVD collection at friends houses...

Uncompressed DVD is about 900KB/sec so yeah, you'd need closer to a 10mbit up pipe, but if you're compressed with anything modern (or hell, even old, just down to typical 1.3GB/movie at largest) you should be able to do that fine over 5mbps...I would have liked a doubling of upload speed though so that I could stream my DVD collection at friends houses...
