Rectification.

That's 44,800 per channel. The schematics only show one channel (8X5,600 uF).
According to Bryston, they did not up the capacitance in the SST2 so it should still be 45,000 uF per channel. Thanks for the schematics, I am going to print it out and go through it next weekend.
You're right Peng, good catch. :) (It is indeed 44,800uF per channel.)

-> And again the picture already provided by Adam:

>>> So the Bryston 4B SST does have in fact a total of 16 caps rated each at 5,600uF each, for a grand total ofb almost 90,000uf capacitance!
It is indeed almost a 45,000uF capacitance reservoir per each channel!

And you cannot see the other toroidal transformer right below the one on top.
(Actually, yes you can, on the picture provided by Adam.)
So, there is two toroidal transformers rated each at 600 VA, for 1.2 KVA total.

Sorry for my impatience. ;) (I did already fix my post).

No, not at all. In fact the info are all there. Instead of doing the search myself I asked you guys to do the hard work for me. I should apologize and thank you all for being so helpful.

Anyway, it looks like from both the schematics and the pictures there are in fact 8 caps for each amp (dual mono design) but any pictures from the top will only show 8 but the other 8 must be underneath hidden by the camera, just like the second toroidal transformer.

Thanks to Seth who created this fantastic thread. I look forward to seeing more nice shots.

Thanks again!

I thought that belongs to the 28B monoblock that does 1800W into 4 ohms, but to qualify as arc welder you have to return it to Bryston for them to reconfigured the two bridged amps from series to parallel. Then it can drive an 1 ohm load, i.e. arc welder.

Well,... True. :) But that's only from Bryston company.

There are also Krell, McIntosh, Boulder Apmplifiers, Theta Digital, VTL, ATI, Ayre Acoustics Inc., Balanced Audio Technology, VMax, Pass Labs, Parasound, SimAudio, MBL, Mark Levinson, Linn, Lexicon, Jeff Rowland, Halcro, Edge Electronics, EarthQuake, Classe, CinePro Inc., California Audio Technology (CAT), Burmester, Anthem,... to name few of the very best ones.

Sorry gents, I'm too lazy to take off the hood of my Stereophile Classified classic JVC deck. Go ahead, take your best shots...I'm not doin' it. ;) And I'm probably violating a law of nature putting this in here with these gorgeous amps. Nevertheless.....

These pics are already available on a DIY network and with a few mods, the unit would be exactly like mine. This is from the era of high-end cdp competition from the early '90's. It's a relatively rare piece and is still assiduously hunted and used as a audiophile transport. The DAC is an amazing piece of JVC proprietary mystery. Still kinda pretty, eh?...and fascinating to read about from this fellow, with more cool pics...http://www.lampizator.eu/LAMPIZATOR/REFERENCES/JVC XL-Z1050 K2/Lampizator JVC K2 XL-Z1050 CD Player with XRCD dac.html

Welcome to the JVC XL-Z1050 CD K2............
