Seriously, I have no life.
As I understand it, the vials are intentionally overfilled somewhat to account for variations in the fill amount and because a little more than the correct dose is initially drawn with a syringe, and the extra is then pushed out of the needle to get the exact dose. In some cases the vials were overfilled enough to permit an additional dose to be drawn.
Agreed and there may be some air sucked in that was in the needle itself and when pushed out you always have some dribble down the needle. I suppose the person drawing may also account for waste or leftover.
You can count on 5 doses, the 6th may be enough or shorted though.

In a democratic society, there is no place for compulsory vaccination. We should have liberty to decide what is better for us without any pressure. We aren't cattle, we are human beings!
Let the larger society pay the price for a handful of those humans with cattle like IQ?

Your freedoms lay between the boundaries of "the greater good" they are not unlimited.
Hence all the laws we have regulating everything from alcohol consumption to zoning rules.

If you not being vaccinated posses a risk to others, away goes your right to refuse it. It's really rather simple.

Your country has laws forbidding people to get drunk? I don't think so.

Hospitalizations have more than doubled since Thanksgiving in six California counties, including its most populous Los Angeles County.

According to the state’s latest figures, more than 16,000 patients are currently hospitalized with the contagious virus, nearly triple the number patients reported one month ago.

Southern California has reported 0 percent ICU capacity, San Joaquin Valley 0.7 percent, Greater Sacramento Region 11.3 percent, the Bay Area 13.1 percent and Northern California 25.8 percent, according to NBC Los Angeles.

The state has 11 alternative care sites that can be activated to help inundated hospitals, and five of them currently have patients, ABC News reports.

Global herd immunity (with vaccine)? One person says 2-3 years.

You mean 'extra', as in the bit that TV shows and movies show squirting into the air? They do that to remove air bubbles from the syringe but I doubt they can't dispense the correct volume accurately. It's not difficult to do that- we have the technology.

Late last night, I saw the news that the FDA has approved the Moderna vaccine for emergency use. Both vaccines, Pfizer's and Moderna's may be given to the public, while their clinical trials continue to collect data on safety and efficacy over at least 6 months.

That sounds like speculation on top of speculation. At present, no one knows how much of the population must be immunized against SARS-CoV-2 to achieve herd immunity. Is it 60%, 70%, 90% or more? We'll know for certain after we get there. Same goes for how long it will take to achieve world-wide herd immunity. Any answer now is a Scientific Wild Assed Guess – SWAG.

all good news but my money is on Pfizer, for one good reason, Pfizer created Viagra. So if they were able to 'raise' the dead, I'll trust them to protect the living ..........

More bad news out of the UK.

The Biological Warfare unit at Porton Down, have just confirmed there is a far more infectious strain of Covid-19 on the loose in the UK.

The variant - called ‘VUI – 202012/01’ - carries a set of mutations including an N501Y mutation to part of the genetic sequence which forms the spike protein - little grippy rods which attach to human cells. Any change in shape of the spike protein could make it more difficult for the immune system to spot. The virus uses the spike protein to bind to the human ACE2 receptor.

The UK government formally informed the WHO of this development last night, after the cabinet met in emergency session. They will meet in emergency session again today.

This new strain emerged recently in my home county of Kent and has been devastating. It is now starting to rip through London and the home counties. Those are the ones that surround London, but has now spread as far as East Anglia which formerly has had a low incidence.

It ability to spread the R factor is not yet entirely known. However there are fears it might be has high as three or four and have an ability to spread 3 or more times faster than other strains.

It is thought and hoped that the vaccines will be as effective against this strain, but it is still not known. The new strain appears to have the same pathogenicity, but is is significantly more contagious.

Under consideration is a total shut down of public transport and even closing roads especially restricting all transport in and out of London.

This is a breaking story, so stay tuned.

Is this some kind of mutation that comes with naturally-created viruses, or could it be synthesized? Not trying to start any wacko theories, just trying to learn about something I don't know. I know organisms mutate, but sometimes it comes after a partial course of treatment that doesn't kill it. This seems very soon, considering the fact that almost nobody has been inoculated.

Viruses mutate naturally. That is a big part of why an HIV vaccine has never been made, it mutates very rapidly compared to other viruses.

Do you mean 3 or 4x faster than the original strain?
