Sony Denies PS3 Price Cut Rumors
Sony's President, Ryoji Chubachi, stated that the PS3 is not going to incur any price cuts at present. It had been rumored that Sony would take advantage of reducedBlu-ray disc player manufacturing costs and extend the player price cuts to the PS3. It is already known that Sony is losing money on every console sold in order to build its brand and enable eventual sales of software titles to make up for the initial investment. With sales of the Nintendo Wii console outpacing PS3 by a margin of 3-to-1, Sony is taking longer than ever before to reach the market penetration it is looking for.

Well this sure makes for an interesting delima. So many retailers seem to be saying their is a price cut and Sony claims there won't be maybe they just want a big E3 "surprise" or maybe there is a lot of confusion in the ranks caused by the internet leaking false stories, only time will tell as E3 is this week.

Went to a local GAMESTOP today at lunchtime, and they have lowered the price to 499. July's console sales are going to be interesting this time around. Thats to say the least. With E3 bringing a bunch of great announcements like this one.
