Default Intel Viiv Technology for Home Theater PCs

audioholics.com/news/pressreleases/IntelViivTechnologyPCs.php">[Intel]A new kind of personal computer (PC) should premiere in homes early next year if Intel Corporation meets its goals (we can't help but think LCoS) and introduces Intel Viiv technology designed to enrich consumers' enjoyment of digital entertainment. Intel Viiv (rhymes with "hive") technology will work together with a variety of Intel-verified consumer electronics devices, online services and software -- including movies, music, photos and games. PCs based on Intel Viiv technology will be easy to use with a remote control and will be powered by a suite of Intel technologies, including a dual-core processor, chipset, platform software and wired networking capabilities.

I would like to know if intel is making specific hardware or if the system is going to be majority software run. Intel has a history of branding there CPU's with fancy titles just to get the general public to buy there product over an AMD proccesor.

If you want speed out of a hard drive you have to run a RAID 0 setup and then you will see a huge speed increase.

Raid 0 is extremely fast but the major disadvantage is ZERO fault tolerance - if you lose one drive you lose all of your data. It's therefore not considered 'true' raid.

Then instead of buying 2 hard drives buy 3 and run a RAID 1 or mirrored setup.
