Default Write Your Congressman - Free Receivers for All!

audioholics.com/news/editorials/CongressmanFreeReceivers.php">[congressbuilding]Peter Benson joins us as a Guest Editorial writer who will be contributing stories to Audioholics in the hopes that we won't all take this hobby too seriously. In his first piece for us, he wonders why home theater isn't subsidized like other programs around the country and writes a letter to his local Senator requesting clarification on the matter. Representing the Brotherhood of Sound Equality (B.O.S.E.), Peter puts forth a stellar argument in favor of a "Denon in every home". Read on for more...

Maybe it will be such a good idea they will let the rich and mid-class pay for it for the poor. I've already read that a special tax {Like a 1/4% after $500} on A/V will go towards paying for the convert box for the poor when they switch over to digital. Well thats where it will start at least.

That sounds like Socialistic viewpoint to me. Making the successful pay for the laziness of others.

And that sounds like a communist thing to say. Not all people are poor because they're lazy.

.....and there's simply not enough rungs on the ladder for everyone to be able to climb, imo, sad as that may be.....

This has gotten way off topic buttt... All I want is the money I earned for working all week. Im tired of handing out about 60% of my yearly gross income in taxes (State, Fed, sales, Line Tax (phone bill), etc...) I dont want to throw old ladies and babies in the street but if helping out can't be done with the mass amount of taxes I already fork out then im starting to not care. Didnt we go to war with the Brits over 5%!!!!

    Smile Enjoyed the editorial

Too funny, I sent this to a friend in my office and I thought she'd shake the walls down she was laughing so enthusiatically.

    Is this thing for real.

Oh and I totally agree with what oscar had to say, that really was a poor choice of words.
But it would be hard to decide who is lazy and who may have had a streak of bad luck.
Me I have 1 felony over a dumb broad thing 5 years ago. And I am now screwed for life.
Granted I am now disabled, but I do know minimal wage will not pay for a Denon or Marantz av/r.
I by chance had a small settlement and opted to get a decent audio & video set-up. But without that settlement, I surely could not have afforded the little I have now.
Being on a fixed income. Does make me poor.......
