    Default Ooma $99.00

I use an older version of the Omma hub and scout and I love it.

Ooma is similar to Vonage minus the monthly fee. You only pay for the 'hub'.

I use the older Hub myself and the call quality is excellent. I think with the latest models you do have to pay a small amount every year just to cover state excise taxes, but the old "Hub" was exempt.

Looking at the Groupon deal it looks like it locks you into paying for the "Primer Services" at $10/mo for one year. That's still cheaper than Vonage.

I got the newer versioin. Call quality is OK. I think it is our internet speed. it is 1.5 mps. We are in the process of upgrading to another provider though. It would have been nice to have this deal. It would have saved $100.

Do you have DSL? Are you using a filter?

I have the old version with the hub and scout. At 5 years old, it's still working like new. If you don't have Ooma, it's definitely worth checking out.

I bought one of these things not too long ago and use it with google voice/my cell number. Only costs $40. Nothing fancy though - you have to supply your own handset and whatever.
