Anyone want to see what retailers are pushing the day after Thanksgiving this year?

How about Sears having an Olevia 52" LCD TV for $1299?

If anyone sees some great deals on audio/video, please post. There's only a few ads out there now, but will be added quickly as days pass.

Me too, especially after what annunaki posted last week...

To those looking at the Olivia deal who didn't see annunaki's "disposable Flat panel" thread, read it here, it had eyebrow raising info in it everybody needs to know before purchasing some of the cheaper flat panel displays...

They all look like great deals. I am leary of Olivia however.

Don't be. I've owned two Olevia sets (20" and 37") for almost 3 years. They've been bullet proof. And if they die, I'd be in the same boat had I spent 2x as much on a Sharp or JVC.

Consumer reports has had a few reviews on LCD sets as far as reliability. The majority of people little if any problems with flat panel LCD. Plasma's in comparison have a much higher return/service issue rate.

How about the Sharp prices? Sheesh. A lucky few will cash in Friday morning. I'm anxious to see what Best Buy, Circuit City and HHGregg offer.

I'm betting an HD DVD player goes on sale for $199, and a Blu ray player for $299.

I think there is a typo for the Hitachi Plasma. If you go to Sears website they don't have a 720p Hitachi. I actually think it is going to be the P42H401 model which is 1080i. Here is the sears link:

Wouldn't that be a good thing??? It's all displayed as a progressively refreshed image anyhow on a flat panel display, so if it was 1080i, it would just provide higher resolution. I'm rooting for it being 1080i vs 720p. Come on typo!

Is that one of the real 1080 panels, or one of the fake ones(Hitachi's deceptive past practice of using the horizontal pixel count of a 720, and the vertical count of a 1080)?
