zone 2 and onkyo tx-str601

<font color='#000000'>We just bought an Onkyo TX-STR601. &nbsp;We have the family room hooked up with a home theatre 5.1 system and have 3 rooms with in wall stereo speakers. &nbsp;They are connected to a Niles speaker box. &nbsp;We are able to select fm tuner and listen to the radio in the family room with the 5.1 and in the other rooms with the stereo speakers which can be controlled independently with the zone 2 volume control. &nbsp;

However, when we switch to the DVD player for music CD's, we cannot get any audio out of the stereo speakers in the other rooms. &nbsp;We have the Niles speaker box connected to the zone 2 terminals. &nbsp;We love the receiver other than this. &nbsp;

Anyone have any suggestions?</font>

<font color='#000000'>BTW, we have the dvd player connected via a digital coxial cable. I read in the manual that zone 2 is not digital. &nbsp;I tried adding an rca cable to zone 2 output on the receiver for the stereo speakers in addition to the digital coxial but I didn't get any sound.</font>
