I am looking for a nice way to mulitroom-multisource a home I am building and I cam across the Zon player (www.zonaudio.com) by Oxmoor. It is really nice looking...and also a bit pricey! Not as much as Crestron though.

Is it worth it? Or is it better to use my Denon 3805 and volume controls/IR for the 3 zones it lets me?

Or....is there a better way to get music around the house?

Not sure of the quality of the integrated amp on that.

Check www.sonance.com for 6 zone/6 source distributed audio systems that might be at a good price point.

Just run your wiring from the head end, to a volume control location, then to the ceiling speakers. Include a piece of CAT-5 at the volume control location and you should be good to go with almost any system you decide on.

The integrated 60 watt amp inside the Zon controller is very unusual and may be of questionable quality. The Sonance stuff comes from a company that has been making top notch amps and in-wall speakers for years. They are one of my favorite companies to work with consistently.

Crestron is pricey, but is by far the easiest for end users to work with when programmed correctly. I have had many clients who have questioned whether they wanted Crestron because their system in their old house worked fine... Then after install saying how glad they are that they made the investment in Crestron because now they actually use their A/V system all the time in every room.
