has anybody seen the zappa plays zappa tour yet,my wife & i went to see the show a few months back(one of the best times ive had in a long while) & it was amazingly good.

being that FZ is long dead his son dweezil has taken over as band leader & guitarist & rebuilt the zappa band using some new & highly talented members & a few past zappa band members, the show we saw featured steve via on stunt guitar, napolean murphy brock on tenor sax & vocals & terry bozzio on drums, talk about an amazing show, the sonics were what i would expect from a zappa band & approached near perfection, the musicianship was what any zappa fan would expect to see with nothing but highly skilled people playing some of the most complex fusion ever written.

dweezil did an excellent job as band leader even though he is much more subdued than what his father was when he was still touring but all in all the show is a must see for any zappa fan or anybody else for that matter who would enjoy being able to see & hear some very complex music being played.

i often wondered if there would be a band who would be able to replicate the music of FZ without turning it into a commercial mess & be able to handel playing some of the more complex peices that FZ wrote & after seeing the new zappa band & compairing the new band with the bands i saw frank playing with when i was younger the experience was awesome.

if this show is comming to your town spend a few bucks & see a fabulous show that is 4 hours long.

Zappa plays Zappa tour

Do you know the tour dates and locations? Down here in Florida, we often don't get some of the shows, and being a long time Zappa fan, I'd love to get to see the show. Read the review in the NY Times, but that's as far as I've made it....

Thanks,

Pat:cool:
