Hi,

I have a new yamaha ysp-4000 and have purchased a yamaha 225 sub however i dont seem to be getting any effects out of the sub..wonder why as i have tried all the sub settings ...even set the YSP sub settings correctly....does any know that during the auto set or manual set....would be get any sound out of the subwoofer..mine stays quiet..is this how its supposed to be????i wonder if the sub even works it gets into stand by mode when i play music CDS......do let me know....have spent 1400USD on the YSP

Hi Vinns, how do you have the sub setup? Are you running a direct cable to the sub or using speaker wires? What is the bass setting on your amp? Are you sending signal from the amp to the sub? You might be simply sending your bass signal to your main speakers and not the sub...

Hi dali,

am sure ur aware the yamaha ysp4000 is the projection soundbar ...it has a cable out from the unit for the subwoofer....and a setting which has to be set to subwoofer ..the unit has its subwoofers which has to be set to FRONT in case one doesnt use a external sub. I have set my crossover in the unit to 100 hz and the same in the subwoofer settings. besides this i dont know what settings exist..am sure there arent any..except the three cross overs at 80,100 and 120 hz

Hi vinns. I'm not having any trouble with mine, but once you set up the sub, I believe you have to rerun the YPAO program to get it recognize the sub. Did you do that?
