We're doing a follow-up survey to finish this doctoral research. It has been decided by the faculty administration that one of the repsondents will win a Free 6GB iPod Mini (including free shipping) for her/his participation - this is open to everyone worldwide.

There are no open-ended questions in this questionnaire so it can be completed by only clicks.

There are two questionnaires: one about Hotmail, the other about Yahoo! Mail. These two websites were chosen because they are popular sites but this research is purely academic so data or results will not be shared with Microsoft Corporation or Yahoo! Inc.

Please enter your email only if you want to take part in the free iPod draw. Collected emails will not be used for any other purpose. When data collection finishes, the winner will be determined and contacted by email.

Link to Yahoo! Mail questionnaire:

Please visit this link for more information about the research:

You can use the email on questionnaire pages if you have any questions.

Thank you for your time and participation.

I flipped through it and, as someone who designs surveys for a living, I'd rework it if I were you. I couldn't answer (with the choices given) at many of the questions.

All web pages can be viewed in a printable format. Never tried it - don't see why I would - at least not for ALL the pages

Hotmail does not have annoying embedded music playing on the background. This is true or false - the Likert scale doesn't make sense.

Hotmail presents a whole detailed history of the account. What account? What is this question about?

It is easy to find the most relevant information using simple or advanced search. Double barreled

Hotmail offers services in different languages for international users. Where's the NA?

Hotmail fits with the image of the company. Which company? Mine? Microsoft?

Information on Hotmail is presented in reasonable chunks rather than everything dumped together. Double barreled

And it goes on. Good luck with your research - I'm not sure how you're going to interpret (validly) the results of this survey.

Hi good points but I had thought about these points. The reason why NA option wasn't provided is to prevent people from taking the easy road and answer most things with NA without thinking about it. But you can still leave the questions unanswered - the script doesn't require all questions to be answered.

Double barreled questions are a result of a simplification process. At the beginning there were 240 criteria - it was reduced to 120, some of them were combined.

True/false and likert scale answers would complicate the factor analysis but when required answers can be converted to true/false.

You're right about the account question. It was about paid services but because it's irrelevant it's very likely that it will be dropped automatically during statistical analysis.

I should have sent you the unfinished version of the questionnaire for some good feedback :D
