You know I am just looking for a deal to present to my local dealer since that's the only place I actually buy. Since the wife said no to dual Kappas, I think I will sneak in a new AVR, which she will never notice.
Geese, Greg. How could even think of looking anywhere else but here:

:) Actually, when they were running their 15% off sale, this was really competitive. Perhaps they could swing the deal for you again, you being an AH Ninja and all.

I got mine last year for a little under $900 on ebay, but if you care a bout a warranty, then you need to get it from an authorized dealer. The 1800 is a fantastic unit, I love mine.

Makes me sick to see how you guys pay so little... that amp is around $1800 here in the UK. :(

Just looking for a legit, good deal from an autorized dealer that I can present to my dealer so he will match it.

I dont think those guys are aut. dealers AccuDT

Hey Glocks, I wonder if we are long lost brothers. We have the same computer, same TV, same amp, same BR player and maybe before long, the same AVR.

Greg, you need to focus :p. Sneak things by her that can be used to increase sound quality! You could start picking up stuff for the project in the future - just wait until you hear the speakers I am building...you might just need a full front soundstage upgrade then ;).

Ok, my dealer said he can do 1k, out the door. He is out of them until Wed. beside a floor model. I tried to get a better deal on the floor model but he said he just put it out on the floor and the box is still laying under it. If I trusted this to be true, I guess I could pick that one up.

I understand but she will notice new speakers or new subs. I think the major issue with the sub is the fact that she bought the Servo for me as a gift and number 2, she doesnt want anything else in the living room. I was thinking that having the latest codecs would be fun...no???

I might seriously talk her into turning the spare bedroom into a little HT room, then the Servo would be more than enough. It would be going from 8,000 cubic ft to 1089 cubic ft.

I keep forgetting that you don't have HDMI. Being able to use the PS3s ability to decode lossless audio is nice.

Whatever you get away with let me know. I have some tricks up my sleeve . It would be nice to get some full range towers to replace those studio 40s after all. Slightly more foot print, but then you wouldn't need a separate subwoofer ;). She would probably go for that one. Maybe I will just bring a pair over sometime and show you :p.

So the AVR is a good idea?

At some point I will own some ANDREW speakers or A-DAWG 1303's as I like to call them.:D

You already have an amp. Maybe you should pick up some more modules for that and/or get a pre-amp with HDMI and balanced inputs/outputs. This will make things cheaper in the future ;). My little three-ways will require 6 channels of amplification per pair...If a center is added on then it will be 8 for the front sound stage. Don't worry though you won't be blowing any of these drivers when you are drinking though...well maybe, but you might go deaf doing it :p.

...UMMM...a HDMI preamp and two more modules for the EMO = 6k. A RX1800 = 1K...I dont really need anything, divide by 2, carry the one...

Pshh, the Integra DTC-9.8 retails for $1,700. How much do the amp boards run for? Can't be 2k a pop, I hope... Just get one or the other. If you are going to sneak something by her go big or go home! Prove to us you aren't really whipped (just don't get caught) :p:D.
