I just bought a Yammi RX-V690 to use as my main stereo receiver and some movies. Can anyone tell me if this was a good buy at $125? I hope to really get into the dsp modes with my music, most people have told me yamaha has outstanding DSP fields for music and movie. ThX.

Do you think the monster interlink 400 MK2's will be a good choice of interconnects? I can't beleive the amount of DSP's on this thing, I did notice that it can support 2 center channel speakers??? wierd to me. Why 2 center spkrs?

"Note on center speaker connection:
One or two center speakers can be connected to this unit. If you cannot place the center speaker on or under the TV, it is recommended to use two center cpeakers and place them on both sides of the TV to orient the center sound at the center position."

I wonder how this affects the imaging and soundstage of a 5 channel rig...then again, you'll just be using it for 2-channel so I wouldn't even worry about it.

Monster, schmonster... Just get whatever looks reasonably well constructed and within your budget...the rest of all that flim flam is just snake oil. Just use common sense, and don't simply hand over a blank check to the Monster label.
