Are Yamaha's flagship recievers made in Japan?
Their photos conceal where they are made.

doesn't the owners manual say? You can dowload the manuals online.

I've been trying to find some photos that aren't the stock Yamaha ones, but I haven't so far. The RX-Z11 review done on AH has some non-stock images, but the one of the back panel is from Yamaha.

Wish that I could help you out, but I'm not having any luck.

I hope Gene or Clint or Tom will answer this?
Typically the Z series from Yamaha are built in Japan.

Built in China is not such a bad thing as long as the company ensures everything is being done right at the factory. Most of the so called "high end" products are built in China even if they claim to be American or European companies.

the same can be said of any product made in other countries. don't be turned off just because it is made in china. manufacturers have a brand name and reputation to protect so quality control should be one of their top priorities. on the other hand, beware of no name brand that's made in china or anywhere.

I think the same pre-school gymnastic girls, that seem to be so good at the Olympics, are on the production line for the RX-Z11!

The specs on this Taiwan-made preamp would put a $20K Mark Levinson or Krell Preamp to shame.
Taiwan and "China" are not the same, though. Well, until the day when it all hits the fan. I think that battle would make the Russian/Georgian skirmish look like a neighborhood scuffle, although China would almost surely win fairly quickly.

Woah, sorry...got off track on that one. That is a sweet looking amp!

But you are a thinking man, forward looking beyond your neighborhood:D
Yes, that day is coming too.
